At Honda Safety Driving Center, proper safety mindset and driving proficiencies are learned in a SAFE and CONTROLLED environment. This is the Honda way of cultivating drivers and riders with utmost regard towards road courtesy, discipline and appropriate use of driving/riding techniques.
Zero accident drives optimum work productivity
and efficiency. It likewise hammers down the high cost of fleet maintenance
which normally eats-up a significant chunk of the company budget.
Driving with extra care in adverse weather conditions is usually
taken-for-granted by most drivers today. This neglect oftentimes result to
traffic jams and/or accidents which cause undue delay, lost business
opportunities and unnecessary stress.
Here are some useful tips for a safer drive during the wet months :
First rule : SLOW DOWN. It takes longer time to stop on a wet road
surface.
Adjust your following distance using the 4-second rule which may be
increased further during heavier downpours.
Dont follow large trucks or buses closely. The spray or mist created by
their large tires reduces your visibility.
Never turn-on your hazard lights while cruising. This will confuse the
driver(s) behind you when you are turning or lane changing.
In multi-lane roads like EDSA, C5, NLEX or SLEX, stay in the middle lanes
as water tends to pool in the outer lanes. However, do not clog the
overtaking lane when running at lower speeds.
If faced with flood that is deeper than the bottom of your door or more
than half of your tires, turn around and find another route.
Stay off the road during heavy thunderstorms. High winds and heavy rains
create fatal driving conditions.
Learn more and develop responsible drivers equipped with the proper safety
mindset and skills that are essential to job and daily work commute.
